Welcome back to Restorative Grief with Mandy Capehart. You are listening to episode 47 titled, “Slowing into Flow States with Sifu Rubia.” My guest Rubia Smolens is the owner of WeiWuTaiChi, an online Qi-Gong and Tai Chi studio and our conversation felt otherworldly. Her story of loss at a very young age surfaced later in life when she began to learn the martial arts, and it is her practice of martial arts that helped her integrate her loss into her story of life. I can’t wait for you to hear some of the beautiful wisdoms and insights, and stick to the end for a lovely Marvel reference, too.
Thank you for listening to episode 47 of Restorative Grief. I loved ending that talk on the wisdom of the Incredible Hulk because OH my gosh! If ever there was a demonstration of what it looks like to integrate our anger as a source of information instead of trying to constant root it out, or remove it fully, the Incredible Hulk is that character. Rubia’s insight and clarity about loss at a young age, and the way slow, intentional movement can reveal us on a deeper level was moving for me – and I hope you gained a little direction for your own grief story as well.
If you haven’t yet, I would love for you to subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode with someone you know and love.
And remember: The only solution for grief to do to the work of grieving. Thanks for listening – I’ll see you next week.
